If you have a keen interest in museums and have time to spare, would you consider volunteering or undertaking a work placement at The Museum of Timekeeping?
The museum is currently within an exciting time of development and is looking to recruit new volunteers to become a valuable part of the workforce and also as trustees. We welcome volunteers sharing an interest in the museum from all backgrounds and abilities.
Don’t worry if you don’t know much about clocks and watches as training opportunities plus useful volunteer resources will be provided to help you get started. The museum also very much welcomes volunteer interest from professional and amateur horologists who would like to get involved in the work of the museum.
Whether you are looking for a regular weekly volunteering opportunity, or perhaps just one day a fortnight or month, our volunteering options are flexible, and can be arranged to suit.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help in a variety of roles including:
- Room Guides and Tour Guides to support new opening arrangements
- Marketing & Social Media
- Collections Documentation & Inventory
- Education & Learning
- Creative Activities
- Research & Exhibitions
- … and more!
Work Placements & Internships

We can offer opportunities across a range of areas and will provide support so that you can develop the relevant skills and knowledge you need.
