SUMMER OPENING 2026 (21st June)

This June 21st (Father’s Day) we are opening our doors on a Sunday to showcase our extensive range of clocks and timepieces, alongside our renowned library and archive. If you’re at a loss for what to do for the special day – why not bring him and the family along?

With a range of new exhibits for this year, such as our James Scott Bowerbank exhibit, who was a close friend of Charles Darwin there is something for history, science, and horology fans alike. As well as other featured exhibits such as Old Oily (as seen on BBC’s ‘The Repair Shop’), a clock made by Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, or a watch that belonged to Captain Robert Scott, a British explorer who led two expeditions to the Antarctic regions. All of this in the beautiful Upton Hall, a Grade II listed building which was built by Nottingham banker, Thomas Wright, and designed by architect William Donthorne.

Our usual admission prices apply:

Adult: £10.00

Art Pass Holders: £5

BHI Members: £4
